Gwyneth Paltrow Opens Up About How Her Daughter Apple’s Birth Redefined Her Acting Career

Gwyneth Paltrow’s favorite role might just be motherhood. She shares two children, Apple and Moses, with ex-husband Chris Martin. She is also a stepmom to husband Brad Falchuk’s two kids, Isabella and Brody. After Apple was born, Gwyneth stepped away from acting.

It is understandable that when Gwyneth became a mom she wanted to spend as much time as possible with her kids. This is hard to do when you are away months at a time filming a movie. Thankfully, Gwyneth created her own second act with her lifestyle brand Goop.

Apple costarred in Gwyneth’s last major acting role from the womb. "Well, it’s kind of ironic because I really stepped away from acting when Apple was born. The last time I was in every scene of a movie was when I was pregnant with her,” Gwyneth mused in an interview with People.

Apple’s birth changed her priorities. "When I had [Apple], it just, everything felt redefined for me, and I thought, 'I’m not sure that I want to do this so much as a career. I definitely don’t want to … I’m not going to go away for months on end,'" she said.
