Suzanne Somers lived a full life. Her breakout role was as Chrissy Snow on the hit comedy series Three’s Company. She would go on to build a fitness empire as the spokesperson for Thighmaster, perform in Las Vegas, become a published author, and star as Carol Foster Lambert on Step by Step. She was also the mother of son Bruce Somers Jr., with whom she was very close. She was married to Alan Hamel for more than 45 years. Sadly Suzanne died on October 15, 2023, after a 23-year battle with breast cancer.
Suzanne and Alan lived happily in Palm Springs, California, from the 1970s to 2021 on a majestic compound. Here’s a look inside.
Suzanne and Alan modeled their property after L'Oustau de Baumanière in Provence, France. They were inspired by their travels and incorporated that into their decor. The property's design features many contrasts. One example is using the natural rock but adding crystal chandeliers.
Set in the mountainside overlooking the valley in Mesa Canyon, this property is massive, covering 28 acres. There are five buildings taking up 7,280 square feet and 10,000 square feet of pavilions. The cherry on top is the private funicular.

The main house that Suzanne and Alan resided in boasts many amenities. It has six bedrooms, not including the primary. There are nine bathrooms so you will never find yourself waiting to go. There is also a two-room kitchen, a dining room that seats 24, and a wine cellar, making it the perfect house to entertain in.
The stone guesthouse dates back to the 1920s and was designed by noted modernist architect Albert Frey. It has four more bedrooms. This would be another great venue for a party because there is a dance floor, an outdoor amphitheater, two pools, a spa, and a natural waterfall. The possibilities are endless.
The property also makes for a tranquil oasis to walk around. Along the way, you will take in mountain views and stumble upon beautiful terraces and patios. It is no wonder Alan and Suzanne spent so many happy years here.
