Jane Fonda, 86, Wows Fans With Her Runway Walk At L’Oréal Paris Fashion Show

Jane Fonda recently made an appearance at Paris Fashion Week, and wowed the audience at the L’Oréal Paris runway show with her all-silver look. On the runway, Jane, 86, sported silver sneakers and a silver trench coat that matched her silver hair perfectly. The "L’Oréal Paris Le Défilé — Walk Your Worth" event took place on September 23, 2024, and Jane was joined by several other celebrities and L’Oréal brand ambassadors, like Kendall Jenner, 28. Though Jane's ensemble was almost entirely silver, she added a touch of red to her look with her bright lipstick and nail polish.

The idea behind the L’Oréal Paris' fashion show was "to celebrate women’s empowerment, inclusion, and sisterhood," according to a statement. In the days leading up to the event, L’Oréal Paris shared videos of their ambassadors on TikTok. One video featured Jane Fonda and Andie MacDowell, who also rocks her natural gray hair.

Commenting on the video, fans called the two women "stunning" and "timeless icons."

"Let’s hear it for my silver girlies!" one person commented on TikTok.

In June, Jane Fonda also appeared on the L'Oréal Paris Lights On Women podcast. On the podcast, she opened up about how she previously struggled with negative body image and an eating disorder.

She said the eating disorder that she struggled with "lasted a long time and it was very hard to heal."

When she was younger, she was conditioned to believe that she had to do "anything not to be fat," she explained at the time.

She gave some examples of other messages she had received. "'If I’m not perfect, nobody is going to love me' is the message that I received," she said.

While on the podcast, she spoke about how she balanced acting and activism. She recalled how when she first became an activist, she was met with a lot of skepticism (and sexism). "[People] did not like women with a voice that they used," she said. She added that they "wanted women to be objects of desire, to look at."

Separate from her role as a L’Oréal Paris ambassador, Jane talked more about her activism in an interview organized by Covering Climate Now. Jane explained how she sees herself, and other celebrities such as Taylor Swift, as a "repeater," or someone who amplifies the concerns that other people have.

"When I’m doing the work I’m doing, I’m picking up the signals from the people who live in Wilmington and the Central valley and Kern county and are really suffering, and the animals that can’t speak, and trying to lift them up and send [their stories] out to a broader audience. We’re repeaters. It’s a very valid thing to do," she said.
