Recent photos of President Donald Trump have left some people thinking that he’s in desperate need of a new makeup artist. During an Oval Office appearance on August 22, 2025, Trump’s hand appeared to be covered by foundation or concealer. The use of makeup was obvious, as the shade did not match the president’s skin tone.
Commenting on the makeup mishap, one X user wrote, “Trump needs a new makeup artist.” At the same time, some people weren’t surprised that the person who applied the apparent makeup to Trump’s hand didn’t choose the correct shade. “Why would anyone think they would do any better covering up Trump’s hand with makeup after what they have been doing to his face for years?” one person wrote, sharing a photo in which Trump’s face looked a bit orange.
At first, people questioned why Trump resorted to using makeup in the first place. “What the HELL is going on with Trump’s hand that he would think this slathered mayo makeup looks better than what’s under there?” someone on X questioned. “Trump is literally covering up more than just the Epstein files.”

But on Monday, August 25, Trump seemingly ditched the makeup and a large bruise was on display in its place. It’s not the first time Trump has been spotted with a bruise in that same location. According to the Independent, the president’s doctor, Sean Barbabella, has described the bruising as a normal side effect of aspirin therapy.
“This is consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen,” the doctor said, per the news outlet. “This is a well-known and benign side effect of aspirin therapy.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also dismissed people’s concerns about Trump’s hand bruising and claimed that “the president remains in excellent health,” Buzzfeed reported.
However, many people still remain skeptical and believe that something could be “seriously wrong” with Trump. “What are they hiding?” one person wrote on X. “Trump desperately tried to keep his hand covered for much of his press conference but eventually we see the bruise.”
At the same time, others didn’t see the hand bruises as a huge deal. Given that Trump is 79 years old, it didn’t come as a major surprise to them. “Everyone panicking about trumps hand bruise has never been around old people. This is not a sign that he’s dying,” another person argued.
