John Stamos has come under fire for emceeing an event at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago. When photos from the event began circulating online, some John Stamos fans declared that they were “totally done” with the actor. They took his appearance at Mar-a-Lago as a sign that John might support Trump’s politics now. However, the Full House star later explained that his political beliefs haven’t changed.
On April 6, 2025, an account called PatriotTakes on X shared a photo from John’s emcee gig on X and wrote, “John Stamos speaking at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home this weekend.” In response, some people said they had suddenly become fans of the actor. But many others expressed disappointment or even shock.
Still others simply couldn’t believe it, with one person writing: “That’s not John Stamos. Can’t be.”
Another commented: “Noooo, he posted a blue heart when voting. Are you sure this is him ?”

“John Stamos just ruined his brand forever,” one person concluded. “You can’t visit Mar-a-Lago and then expect the stink to ever leave you. Nobody will be having mercy on him. (See what I did there?)”
In response to the backlash, John took to his Instagram Stories to explain why he was emceeing at Mar-a-Lago. He explained that the event was not political.
“I accepted the invitation to emcee the Palm Beach Ray of Hope Gala, an evening dedicated to honoring and uplifting our frontline heroes,” he wrote. “This nonpartisan event supports The Academy for Nursing and Health Occupations, a 501(c)(3) organization that trains 350-400 nurses every year, directly addressing the critical shortage of healthcare professionals in Palm Beach County.”
He went on to say that “supporting nurses isn’t political — it’s essential.”
“These are the people who care for us and our families when we need it most, and I believe we should show up for them with the same unwavering dedication they show up with every single day,” he continued. “I stand by the importance of healthcare, of service, and of investing in those who care for our communities.”
“My values and political views remain unchanged,” he added.

Though the statement cleared things up a bit, reactions were mixed.
“Good for him,” one person reacted on X. “He’s right. Even tho the gala was held at the Tangerine Man’s home, doesn’t mean it’s not a worthwhile cause.”
But others remained unimpressed. “Unacceptable…..bye John… it’s over between us…” a second person wrote on the platform.
A third person commented, “Showing up to Mar-a-Lago is a political statement.”
Addressing the actor directly via his most recent Instagram post, one critic said there are “so many other ways to support nurses.” Another person who commented on John’s post wrote, “John, you can support nurses a trillion different ways. Supporting them while at the wannabe dictator’s house isn’t the way to do it.”
