In 2018, a brave 17-year-old girl saved herself and her 12 siblings from the horrific abuse of their parents. Jordan Turpin escaped her home and called for help. Her parents, David and Louise Turpin, never let their children go outside, often chaining them up and starving them. David and Louise Turpin would eventually plead guilty to multiple felony charges, such as torture and cruelty, in 2019 and receive life sentences in jail.
Jordan and her siblings have been forced to move ahead since suffering this abusive beginning to life. For her part, Jordan has managed to garner nearly 1 million followers on TikTok and land a modeling contract.
Jordan is now 22 years old. After their rescue, she and her siblings were separated. Some went to live in foster homes, while the adult children had to quickly learn how to make it in the real world.
Jordan typically posts dancing and lip syncing videos on her TikTok account. Her bio states that she loves “to dance and write songs.” She also loves “helping others.” Sometimes she collaborates with others, such as social media personalities Loren Gray in December 2021 and Charli D'Amelio in April 2021. Beyond TikTok, she has a modeling contract with a prestigious agency. She is represented by the publicity firm Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis and talent agency WME.
Even though Jordan has managed to accomplish so much after her abuse, she still struggles to reconcile her past. "My normal day? I usually, um, cry," Jordan revealed to Elle magazine. "Then I try to get myself to eat. And then I start to do my makeup, but I cry, so I have to do it over. And then I try to do a TikTok, but I'm like, 'Oh, people are going to say this and that about me.'"
