Regardless of how many times Donald Trump’s name appears in the Epstein files, the president will have Karoline Leavitt there to clear his name and declare the files based on Jeffrey Epstein’s emails and personal documents and photos to be false. In an interview clip shared on X, Leavitt calls the files a “classic Washington hoax.” She also blames Democrats for leaking redacted information and says that Trump did nothing wrong in relation to Epstein and the files that were leaked and the files available online now. Which, by the way, is not every bit of information made available to the U.S. government. There are still files that people want released.
But what people really don’t love about Leavitt speaking out about the files and behalf of Trump is her narrative about Trump being named thousands of times in the files. She also mentions Virginia Giuffre, who died by suicide before the release of the files, though she doesn’t mention her by name. Giuffre was instrumental in speaking out about Epstein and the abuse she claimed to have experienced at the hands of the financier. She did publicly state that she did not see Trump at the parties where she testified she was abused and that’s what Leavitt seems to cling to as proof of the “hoax.”

In the interview clip, Leavitt calls the claim that there are unreleased Epstein files to be a hoax. She also says that this is a ploy that Democrats are leading as they accuse Trump of having more to do with Epstein than he originally let on. According to Leavitt, the government has been transparent about the Epstein files.
“If you look at how this Epstein story sort of evolved over the past week, it’s classic Washington hoax,” Leavitt says. “You have Democrats on the Oversight Committee leaking redacted information to their favorite reporter at CNN, who then pops the story with that redacted information and does not reveal that the unredacted version is available. And the unredacted version proves that the so-called victim in this email is a woman who is unfortunately deceased, but prior to her death said on numerous occasions that President Trump never did anything wrong and was always incredibly friendly in her interactions with him.”
She adds, “It’s a purposeful leak to try to manufacture this new cycle to drag the president. And we’ve seen this play out so many times. It is a classic playbook of the Democrats using their friends and the fake news to spin up a narrative about the president. And so, we just don’t tolerate it. We don’t give in.”
Leavitt also claims in the video that “tens of thousands of pages” of the Epstein files were given to the House Oversight Committee. However, as we all know, that’s not nearly enough for the people who continue to ask for the total and complete release of the Epstein files.
People called her out for being a fraud.

In the comments under the X post, users called out Leavitt for supporting and backing Trump despite his name appearing in the Epstein files countless times. There are also those images of Trump next to Epstein once upon a time that, to some, prove the men had a closer friendship than anyone close to Trump has admitted to.
“She’s ignoring the part where the same girl said Ghislaine Maxwell told her to be with Trump like she was with Epstein, who she was trafficked to,” one user commented. “And now Maxwell is getting special treatment. Directly related.”
Another wrote, “Leavitt’s smiling as she’s recounting her perception of a hoax about the files that were or were not redacted. Unspeakable things have happened to the victims in these files. They nor their families get to tell their stories as sunny smiley anecdotes.”
Elsewhere on X, someone called Leavitt a “classic Washington FRAUD.”
JD Vance also spoke about the files.

The first batch of files in the Epstein case were released in late December. From there, more batches were released to the public, with some names redacted for the safety of victims involved in the case. But for many, that isn’t enough. And, like Leavitt, other people who are part of MAGA and close to Trump have spoken about the files publicly.
In July 2026, JD Vance appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast and admitted to “screwing up” the release of the Epstein files. But, to be clear, it had nothing to do with hiding anything. Of course not.
“I say this with all candor, like we absolutely screwed up the comms of the Epstein files, like we just did,” he admitted. However, he added, “But do I think the reason we screwed up the comms is because we were trying to hide something? No.”
