MA Man Wins $1 Million On A Scratch-Off Lotto Ticket From His Mom On Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is a great day to celebrate love of all kinds. It is not just for romantic relationships. There are also friends and family to consider. One mom wanted to make sure her son felt loved on the big day and gave him a card with a lottery scratch-off card inside. Little did she know.

Thanks to his mom, Matthew Broadley won $1 million dollars. He was extremely surprised by all this. He is also thankful. His mom did good. The odds of winning the lottery are about 1 in 300 million after all.

Matthew lives in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts. The huge payout was thanks to State Lottery's "$4,000,000 Jumbo Cash" instant ticket game. He claimed his winnings on Valentine’s Day 2024. He even brought the card with him to the lottery headquarters in Dorchester.

“Thanks, mom,” Matthew reportedly said. His mom gave him two scratch-off cards, one of which was the big winner. Matthew discovered his luck at around 11 p.m. the night before. He was shocked.

Matthew opted for a one-time payment. This means he will walk away with $650,000 before taxes. The store that his mom purchased the winning ticket from also gets a payout. Lakeview General Store in Tyngsborough will receive a $10,000 bonus. It is not known what Matthew plans to do with the money, but here’s hoping his mom at least gets a nice dinner for her role in his winnings.
