First Lady Melania Trump did not join her husband, President Donald Trump, on his trip to China. And while that might seem strange, it’s also Melania we’re talking about. She has, after all, skipped various events, complained about certain First Lady responsibilities, and sported an “I really don’t care, do u?” jacket. So, perhaps she just didn’t want to go and preferred to focus her attention elsewhere. Fair enough.
But people became more suspicious of Melania’s absence this time around when they saw who was invited to join the president on the trip. President Trump was joined by more than a dozen business executives, along with some government officials. And for some reason, his son Eric Trump and daughter-in-law Lara Trump were also there.
So, naturally, people think there might be some “tension” between Melania and Lara.
Does Melania really have an issue with every other woman in the family, or are people just really attached to the whole “evil stepmother” narrative? Either way, there are rumors that Melania and Lara don’t necessarily get along. People have already made similar claims about Melania and her stepdaughter Ivanka.
Although skipping the China visit doesn’t seem all that out of the ordinary for Melania, astrology expert Tracy Higgs told The Mirror that she might’ve been bothered by Lara’s presence on the trip.
“Melania has always carried an energy of wanting selective involvement rather than constant visibility, so part of her may genuinely not be overly bothered by the travel itself; it is more the symbolism of it that could matter,” Higgs told the publication.
She added, “I do not necessarily feel she would be outwardly resentful, but I do feel there could be an internal sense of ‘that should have been my place.'”
They appear to have clashing personalities.
At least, according to astrology. Higgs explained that Melania is a Taurus while Lara is a Libra, which are “two very different personalities.”
“Taurus energy likes stability, privacy, loyalty, and keeping control of the environment around them,” Higgs said, which sounds pretty in line with what we know about Melania. Ahead of the release of her documentary, Melania, there were rumors that Melania wanted control over all the details. Then, ahead of the premiere, she was reportedly picky about the guest list because she wanted the night to be about her and her film.
The “privacy” thing also makes sense. Her documentary has been critiqued for not being the most revealing story ever. Although it’s a documentary about her and her role as First Lady, critics still felt like they didn’t really know or understand Melania after watching it.
Meanwhile, Higgs also said, “Libra is naturally more social, diplomatic, and comfortable stepping into public roles.” This could explain why Lara seemed eager to go to China (and even posted a controversial selfie ahead of the trip). Besides, she also regularly talks about the Trump family on her own show, and she has tried to pursue a music career as well.
Although Higgs does not perceive Melania or Lara as overly confrontational, she speculates that there could definitely be some “tension around position, image, and influence.”
There are also rumors that Melania doesn’t get along with Ivanka.
People have alleged that there’s a sort of “power struggle” between Melania and Ivanka. Unnamed sources have also claimed that they “do not get along” and there’s “real tension” between them. So, this could be a case of women getting pitted against each other for no real reason, or perhaps, there could really be some “real tension.”
