What do you usually do when you take a bite of food and it isn't very good? Some may secretly spit it out. Others may just hurry up and swallow it. Well, one reporter's encounter with some not so good food was livestreamed, and he recently went viral for his unintentional nonverbal communication skills that has sparked quite an avalanche of jokes online.
On October 13, 2023, Jalen Tart, a reporter with NBC affiliate WIS, was reporting live on day three of the South Carolina State Fair. In an instant, one moment of him trying a Polish hot dog turned into him going viral, and the video tells you everything you need to know!
In the video, Jalen is seen taking a bite of a Polish hot dog. Although after his first initial chews he claimed it was good, his facial expressions says otherwise.
“I’m still shocked,” he told TODAY.com about going viral. “I wasn’t trying to go viral. I was just hungry and I just wanted a bite to eat and that’s just what happened.”

“I was like, ‘OK, this is actually not bad,’ but then I thought, ‘I still got to swallow this thing down,’ and I just couldn’t get it,” he said of his reaction in the video. “It wasn’t nasty, it was just the fact that it was a lot of food and I was just trying to get it down to give my reaction. I was just in the moment and I didn’t know what else to say to the anchors.” But when asked if he would eat another Polish hot dog again, he assuredly responded, "No."
