It’s not unusual for famous people to be name-dropped in songs, some of which are definitely more flattering than others. Just ask Monica Lewinsky. On April 24, Halle Berry responded to an X post that read, “Halle Berry may be the most rapped about woman in history. Imagine being that fine.” Clearly, Halle appreciated the compliment. “And I appreciate each rap song reference,” the actress wrote back. “What are you guys’ favorite?”
The post sparked a conversation about the best songs that mention Halle Berry. Monica Lewinsky also weighed in, and her simple response has since gone viral. “Wanna trade?!?” she wrote.
wanna trade?!? 😉

It’s been nearly three decades since former President Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky, who was a White House intern at the time, came to light. Years after the affair, Monica still can’t escape pop culture references — and it’s really no surprise that she’d like to trade with Halle Berry.
In 2009, Hurricane Chris released a song called “Halle Berry (She’s Fine).” Her name is in lyrics in songs by Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, and Missy Elliot, among others. References to Halle are usually about how attractive she is. Meanwhile, songs that mention Monica tend to be pretty derogatory.
For example, Monica is mentioned in Beyoncé’s 2013 song “Partition.” In it, Beyoncé sings, “He bucked all my buttons, he ripped my blouse. He Monica Lewinski’d all on my gown.” In 2014, Monica pointed out that the lyric should probably be changed to “Bill Clinton’d” for accuracy’s sake. “Thanks, Beyoncé, but if we’re verbing, I think you meant ‘Bill Clinton’d all on my gown,’ not ‘Monica Lewinsky’d,'” she said at the time.
On X, many people appreciated Monica’s sense of humor and praised her for being “a good sport.”
One person wrote in response to Monica: “Your sense of humor is elite.”
A second person said they “just spit out my coffee.”
A third person admitted that Monica has probably been mentioned in more songs than Halle has. “The most rapped about woman is Monica, not Halle,” they wrote.
However, not everyone was impressed by Monica’s response. “You don’t get to flip-flop between playing victim and joking about it at will,” one critic responded. “Halle didn’t ask for any of this drama in her light-hearted, fun post.”
Another person suggested that Monica should be happy that Beyoncé mentioned her in a song. “Beyonce referenced you — cherish that,” they wrote.
In February, Monica admitted that she previously considered changing her name. On the Call Her Daddy podcast, she explained why she ultimately decided against it. “Why should I have to change my name?” she said. “I bet nobody has asked Bill, did he ever think about changing his name? OK, I get because he was the most famous person at the moment, and the president. But just even the idea would never cross someone’s mind to a man.”
Monica said she has some regrets, but she’s also “a human being.” She added, “I’m not ashamed of who I am.”
