Were Pamela Anderson And Liam Neeson Just Fake Dating To Promote Their Movie?

As co-stars Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson promoted their recent film, The Naked Gun, people couldn’t help but notice they had chemistry. When questioned about their alleged romance, both Pamela and Liam skirted around the topic, but sources told People that the co-stars truly were dating and totally “smitten with each other.” Now, though, TMZ claims that the whole thing was fake and meant to generate buzz and excitement around the movie.

So what exactly is going on with Pamela and Liam? Sources that spoke to People maintain that “everything between them has been genuine.” But according to TMZ, the romantic chemistry between the two actors was just an act — and a very intentional one. The tabloid claimed that “Pamela and Liam didn’t even see each other from the time cameras stopped rolling in June 2024 until the press tour launched more than a year later, in July 2025.”

Describing the apparent romantic connection between Pamela and Liam as “strictly biz, zero romance,” TMZ alleged that the actors’ PR teams and Paramount came up with the alleged PR stunt to help promote The Naked Gun.

Meanwhile, People‘s sources totally shut down these claims. According to one source that spoke to the publication, Pamela and Liam “have a real connection” and had “no incentive” to pretend they were dating. Another insider told the publication that “neither would ever take part in a publicity stunt” like the one described by TMZ.

Previously, as romance rumors about the pair circulated, a source told People that their relationship was still “in the early stages” but was “sincere.”

During a Today show appearance, Liam seemingly dismissed the romance rumors. He admitted that he and Pamela had chemistry, but clarified that it was just “as two actors.”

“I had never met Pamela before,” he explained when questioned about their alleged relationship. “We met on set. And we discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry — as two actors.”
