Ontario Pizza Hut Gets A Lot Of Attention After Closing Due To ‘Unforeseen Circumcisions’

A humorous typo has caused a Pizza Hut location in Timmins, Ontario, Canada, to go viral.

In a Timmins, Ontario, Facebook group, a social media user shared an image of the sign that read, "Due to unforeseen circumcisions, the dining room will be closed this evening!! Sorry for the inconvenience! Open for takeout and delivery only!!" The Facebook user shared that their friend went to Pizza Hut on the night of January 23, 2024. "Might be one of the worst reasons to have to close ," the Facebook user wrote.

The location’s general manager blamed autocorrect for the mistake — but also joined in on the joke.

"We at Pizza Hut appreciate all our loyal customers!!! And how your having fun with our little mishap yesterday, Damm auto correct. We put up a new sign today ," the general manager, Marc Girard, wrote on Facebook.

He shared an image of an updated sign created for the Pizza Hut location. It read, "In light of recent CIRCUMSTANCES, for a limited time when you buy one regular priced medium or large pizza, you can get the following for only $5…No tip required!"

"Marketing done right ‍ " one person commented on the Facebook post, while others added that the original sign has gone viral.

On X, one person wrote, "The perfect typo doesn’t exi-" then shared the image of the "unforeseen circumcisions" sign.

The tweet has been viewed more than 73.3K times, and many commented with their own jokes about the unfortunate typo.

"Guess they must have had to pull back on staffing costs and make some cuts," one person wrote.

"but what if it isn’t a typo" another person responded.

Star Trek actor George Takei even responded to the tweet, joking, "Typos are my worst enema!”
