A Republican political commentator and former member of Congress has made it clear that he's not a fan of former President Donald Trump, but his recent criticism has nothing to do with Trump's political views.
On December 16, 2023, Adam Kinzinger took to X to share one of the many things that bothers him about Trump: the way he smells. "I’m genuinely surprised how people close to Trump haven’t talked about the odor," Kinzinger wrote. "It’s truly something to behold. Wear a mask if you can."
Though several people agreed, or at least believed that what he said about Trump's scent is likely true, some thought the criticism was pretty immature.
"I’ve heard from a reliable source, that Trump smells of soiled diapers, Axe Body Spray and hotdog burps," one X user commented.
Another wrote: "Oh GROSS!!! just another reason to be disgusted by him."

Others jumped to Trump's defense and accused Kinzinger of being childish (though some also stooped to Kinzinger's level and made comments about the way he smells instead).
"This is just childish – it says more about you than it does about Trump," one person commented.
"Haven’t heard that one since the third grade," another person responded.
Whether or not what Kinzinger said is true, some pointed out that there are many other things to worry about.
"I wish this was the only bad thing about him!" one X user wrote.
But Kinzinger didn't stop there. He later tweeted that he had another "fact" to share about Trump. "Here’s another fact that weak, whiney, fragile, follower sheep MAGA hates to hear (fact one was his odor)," Kinzinger wrote. "Fact 2: Donald is absolutely scared to confront people in person. He is frightened at in person conflict"
One X user responded by saying that although Trump may be scared of confrontation, he also appears to be surrounded by people who are afraid of challenging him.
"Well, let's be honest," the person wrote. "Trump should've been in jail January 7th, 2021. For inciting a riot and insurrection, and as we later found out, a coup. I say this because while Trump may be scared to confront people in person. There's a lot of people scared to confront him 'at all.'"
Kinzinger has not been quiet about how much he dislikes Trump. As a Republican who is unhappy with the direction his party has been heading in, he feels that he is "homeless" when it comes to politics, and if Trump is the Republican nominee, he might have to vote for Democrat Joe Biden, according to CBS.
Describing Trump as "the big threat to the country in 2024," Kinzinger told CBS: "I don't even have to hesitate. Do I agree with everything Joe Biden's doing? No, of course not. He's a Democrat. I'm an old-school Republican, I'll say. But I believe he's a good man, and I believe he's focused on the Constitution. I believe he's not looking for reasons to violate the Constitution like Donald Trump is. I wouldn't hesitate at all."
