Actress Raquel Welch has passed away at the age of 82. The news of her death was confirmed by her manager, Steve Sauer, who told People she "passed away peacefully early this morning after a brief illness."
He continued, "Her career spanned over 50 years starring in over 30 films and 50 television series and appearances. The Golden Globe winner, in more recent years, was involved in a very successful line of wigs. Raquel leaves behind her two children, son Damon Welch and her daughter Tahnee Welch."
Raquel's career spanned an impressive five decades. She began acting in the 1960s and enjoyed tremendous success with the movies Fantastic Voyage and One Million Years B.C.
Raquel also enjoyed time as a successful author, and her first book, Beyond the Cleavage, became a bestseller when it was released in 2010.
Raquel previously told People, "By age 7 I knew I wanted to be an actress."
She added, "My parents enrolled me in a theater program. You could get away from some of the painfulness of real life. I always had flights of fancy."
