We can always count on Rosie O’Donnell to offer her most brutal opinions on President Donald Trump. Although Trump’s decision to enter politics definitely made their ongoing feud more complicated, O’Donnell has not backed down (even after Trump threatened to revoke her citizenship).
Recently, she shared her thoughts on Trump’s second term. She did not hold back when discussing his health, which she thinks is clearly declining.
She believes everyone around him knows it, too.
No one in Trump’s circle has said that he’s unwell. In fact, Dr. Mehmet Oz, who currently serves as the Administrator of the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services, has even tried to say that Trump is really healthy for his age. But O’Donnell thinks his decline is obvious, and she explained why during an appearance on the On with Kara Swisher podcast.
When Swisher argued that “Trump’s popularity is in the toilet” due to the Iran war and the state of the economy, O’Donnell said there’s more to it than that.
She added, “And the fact that he’s falling asleep, that he’s very physically ill, that he doesn’t look like he’s long for this earth, that he shouldn’t be the man in control of the nuclear code. Like, these are things that everyone around him knows.”
If everyone around him knows it, they aren’t saying it.
Amid concerns about his cognitive decline, Trump has bragged about “acing” several cognitive tests. Trump and those around him have also tried to say that he’s not falling asleep during important meetings, even though everyone has seen photos and videos in which he appears to be sleeping.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has said that Trump “remains in excellent overall health.” And Dr. Oz has claimed that he’s “healthy as a bull” with “great” testosterone.
Dr. Oz said Trump is doing well for his age. The only problem, he alleged, is his weight. “I think his success to longevity, as well as good health, is his incredible passion for what he’s doing,” he said.
People’s concerns about Trump’s health go beyond his apparent naps and unhinged behavior. There has been a lot of speculation about his hand bruising as well, though the White House has tried to say that Trump simply shakes a lot of hands and takes a lot of aspirin.
O’Donnell has also shared other details that “everyone” knows about Trump.
Or, at least, everyone who grew up in New York City. She told Ana Navarro that Trump has been a known “grifter” for many years now, long before he became president. And it was not a secret.
“It’s all smoke and mirrors with him,” she said on a recent episode of Navarro’s podcast. “He’s just a grifter, a conman, a snake oil salesman. And if you grew up on Long Island, as I did, or in New York City, you knew this your whole life.”
She thinks some people might not see Trump for who he really is because of The Apprentice, which made him look like a successful businessman. She said this portrayal is clearly “fiction,” as Trump is just a “mediocre man.”
