Suzanne Somers died on October 15, 2023, at around 5:30 a.m. She was just one day shy of her 77th birthday. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by family.
Two weeks later, her official death certificate was obtained by The Blast. It lists "breast cancer with metastasis to the brain” as the immediate cause of death. A biopsy was performed to confirm this. Suzanne was first diagnosed in 2000.
The death certificate also listed high blood pressure and hydrocephalus are underlying conditions that contributed to her death. No autopsy was performed. The Mayo Clinic defines hydrocephalus as the “buildup of fluid in cavities called ventricles deep within the brain.” The fluid puts pressure and can cause brain damage. Suzanne had the condition for a year.
The death certificate also reveals Suzanne was buried at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City, California three days after her death. A Palm Springs funeral home oversaw the ceremony. It is unknown who was in attendance.
