‘Everwood’ And ‘Hair’ Star Treat Williams Killed After Car Hits Him On Motorcycle Ride

On Monday, June 12, 2023, actor Treat Williams died as a result of a motorcycle accident near Dorset, Vermont, on Route 30 by Long Trail Auto. This tragic news was confirmed by Treat's longtime agent, Barry McPherson, and Jacob Gribble, the local fire chief.

The investigation of the incident is still ongoing, but it is believed at this time that the car that struck Williams was turning and did not see him. Williams was the only party injured in the accident and was airlifted to a New York hospital. The scene will be further processed today.

Barry McPherson has yet to fully process this devastating loss. "He was killed this afternoon. He was making a left or a right [and] a car cut him off," he explained. "I'm just devastated. He was the nicest guy. He was so talented." The agent went on to honor Treat's legacy.

"He was an actor's actor. Filmmakers loved him. He's been the heart of Hollywood since the late 1970s," he continued. "He was really proud of his performance this year. He's been so happy with the work that I got him. He's had a balanced career."

Treat Williams was best known for starring in the movie adaptation of the Broadway musical Hair and the television series Everwood. His big break came in 1975 in the feature film Deadly Hero. Most recently, he worked on Netflix’s Dolly Parton's Christmas on the Square and The Noel Diary.
