What to Know
Another statue of President Donald Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has appeared in Washington DC, and this one takes inspiration from the movie Titanic, specifically the film’s iconic “I’m Flying” scene. The satirical statue, which “honors” the friendship between the two men, depicts Trump holding Epstein in the same way that Jack held Rose when she pretended to fly.
A plaque that accompanies the statue reads, “The tragic love story between Jack and Rose was built on luxurious travel, raucous parties, and secret nude sketches. This monument honors the bond between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, a friendship seemingly built on luxurious travel, raucous parties and secret nude sketches.”
The statue appeared on the National Mall on Tuesday, March 10.

Per The Washington Post, a group of artists that goes by “the Secret Handshake” is responsible for the statue, along with several other displays that have drawn attention to Trump’s friendship with Epstein. One of the artists in the group told The New York Times that the group sought to depict Trump as a king and took inspiration from one of Jack’s lines in the film: “I’m the king of the world!” The statue is also named after this line.
It’s pretty popular on social media.

WHO LOVES THIS?

Because, yes, it’s disgusting—but that’s kind of the point, right? “they look so unsettling and creepy,” one person on Reddit wrote after seeing the statue. They then added, “Good.” Someone else said, “The Titanic is such a fitting metaphor for the US with Trump atop it. Absolute chef’s kiss.”
A third person wrote, “And just like Jack and Rose, one had to die so the other could go on.”
While many people online love that the statue is currently on the National Mall for everyone to see, they could also think of some other places to put the statue. “Put one in front of every golf course he owns, so that Trump will always be reminded of his p3do bestie!” one person suggested. Another person suggested that art displays like these actually belong in museums. “I hope one day all these beautiful and truthful statues will be homed in a museum so years from now people will know that the administration did not silence us,” they wrote.
And hey, maybe First Lady Melania Trump is in need of some new decor as well? “Melania wants it for the new ballroom entryway,” someone joked.
Of course, not everyone appreciates it.

Some people on social media defended Trump and asked why there’s no statue of Former President Bill Clinton and Epstein. Another critic complained that “liberals” have “too much time and money.”
And of course, the Trump administration did not appear to love the statue. In a statement, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said, “When will these wealthy Democrat donors create sculptures of Democrats … who continued to solicit money and meetings from Epstein after he was convicted as a sex offender?”
Earlier this year, the same group of artists displayed a giant replica of the birthday card Trump allegedly gave Epstein.

In 2003, Trump allegedly sent a card to Epstein for his birthday, per a report from The Wall Street Journal. The card read, “Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret,” and “We have certain things in common, Jeffrey.” Trump dismissed it as “fake” and said, “It’s not my language. It’s not my words.”
But the Secret Handshake displayed the giant replica of the card in January 2026, giving passersby the opportunity to sign it. The group aimed to draw attention to “the heavily redacted [Epstein] files that have been released and those that haven’t” and to “highlight the conversation about President Donald Trump’s friendship and relationship with Jeffrey Epstein using his own reported language and correspondence.”
