People Think New Viral Photo Is The Perfect Representation Of Trump’s Presidency

Another viral photo of President Donald Trump has sparked mockery online. The photo is from the Fourth of July celebrations in Washington, D.C. It shows Trump watching Fox News — while he was on Fox News at that very moment. Some critics are calling him “self-absorbed” for this, while others are convinced he didn’t really know what was going on.

On July 4, the Great American State Fair was evacuated due to severe weather. Trump had been planning to speak before the storms hit the area. Fox News was covering the event and caught Trump on camera watching the exact broadcast he was on.

The image that shows Trump watching himself live on Fox News has garnered lots of comments online.

A lot of Trump critics see the image as a perfect visual representation of who Trump is. On X, one critic described Trump as someone who “reads news articles about himself, watches himself watching himself on tv,” while another person said this is because “he only cares about himself.”

And people have reason to think Trump spends a lot of his time consuming content about himself. He said as much during an appearance on Second Lady Usha Vance’s podcast. The Second Lady asked Trump what he likes to read in his downtime, and he said, “I end up reading mostly newspapers. I usually read stories about myself.”

So, when this particular photo went viral, people thought it made a lot of sense. “Obviously he’s watching himself most often when watching TV as well, he makes no secret about him being the most important person to himself,” one person wrote on Reddit.

People think the one image explains a lot.

A picture is worth a thousand words, so some people didn’t have much to say about it. “I mean it really just sums everything up doesn’t it?” someone commented.

Another critic said, “It is showing his favorite TV character: Donald J. Trump.”

A third person related the image to how Trump has tried to put his name and image on so many things, such as the new special edition passports and the Kennedy Center. “This feels like the epitome of how he lives and what he desires,” they wrote. “He’s self-obsessed and will look at himself looking at himself looking at himself looking at himself, forever… He wants everything to be him.”

And while lots of critics believe that Trump is “narcissistic,” several actually argued this moment might not have been about that.

To them, Trump seemed more confused than anything. During the Fox News broadcast, the show’s hosts saw Trump watching and tried to get him to wave. Host Harris Faulkner said, “We see you, hi Mr. President!” And Brian Kilmeade said, “See if he turns around for us!”

But Trump did not appear to wave, which raised questions online. “Was he actually watching?” a Redditor questioned. “If he had been, he would have waved. Was he sleeping standing up? Zoning out entirely?”

Another critic speculated that he was watching the live broadcast to get information about what was going on, just like everyone else. “He probably forgot where he is, and is hoping that the TV will tell him,” they wrote.
