Part of the fun of starting a family is breaking the happy news that you are expecting to your loved ones. People can go all out for this and have high expectations. Things do not alway go according to the master plan, though.
Al Roker recently revealed on The Today Show how he was told his daughter Courtney Roker Laga was pregnant. It wasn’t the grand reveal Courtney might have wanted. In fact, she was not even the one to break the news. Her brother-in-law goofed and told Al via text.
"Wes' goofy brother accidentally dropped [the news] on a text, thanks Cory," Al joked. His colleagues laughed. "There's one in every family!" Savannah Guthrie replied. "Two in mine," Al added.
Al is thrilled to be a grandfather regardless of how he found out. Al is a father of three. Al shares Courtney with ex-wife Alice Bell, and has two children, daughter Leila and son Nick, with his wife Deborah Roberts.

Courtney publicly announced her pregnancy on March 14 on Instagram with a cute video montage captioning it, “A new adventure is about to begin ❤️ .” Al chimed in and commented “here we go!!! So very very happy!!!!!” He is thinking his grandpa name will be “Pop-pop.”
Courtney spoke to Today via text message to share her joy. “We are extremely excited to welcome a new member into our family and start this next chapter in our lives. We feel truly blessed and excited for our little miracle,” she stated.
