Coco Austin doesn't care how society feels about her breastfeeding journey. In 2021, Coco opened up about how her then-5-year-old daughter with Ice-T continues to occasionally breastfeed and why she won't ever pressure her to stop.
"Chanel still likes my boobs. It's a big bonding moment for a mother and your child," Coco told Us Weekly at the time.
She knows that people are judgmental of the fact that she's continuing at Chanel's age. Many believe breastfeeding should conclude around 2 years old. "A lot of people are like, 'Oh, you're not getting the nutrition after two years old. Why do it?'"
"And I'm like, my child's eating steak and hamburgers, she just likes a little snack every now and then and more of the bonding between the mother. Why take that away from her?" Coco continued.
"If she doesn't want it, all right, that’s where you stop it. But I’m not just going to say no."
Coco also points out that attitudes toward breastfeeding are different in other areas of the world. "Europeans, they stop around seven years old," she said.
"They kind of go when the child doesn't feel the need to do it anymore, and that's how I feel."
