Being home all the time is intense. It's not unusual to retreat into your screen of choice every now and then. There is a silver lining in all the time we're spending online right now. As more families share scenes from their lives, we're getting to see some awesome family dynamics. People are sharing what it's like to be at home with their families, and their posts range from heartwarming to plain hilarious. If there's one breakout star in the stay-at-home parenting game, it's the dad with a dinosaur alter ego, Dadosaur.
We have TikTok user @olivemannella to thank for brightening up our lives with Dadosaur. He openly appears when someone mentions him, but when he does, watch out. His daughters find hilarious ways to invoke Dadosaur in their day-to-day lives.
The hilarious videos first came to the wider internet's attention when Twitter user Carly Grisham shared the family's Easter video on her feed. "Can this be my dad pls," she captioned the hilarious video. It shows a mild-mannered dad transform into Dadosaur and conquer Easter dessert.
People across the internet are choosing all sorts of ways to document their stay-at-home experience. In doing so, we've seen some incredible moments from families. One of those is the family of TikTok user Olive Mannella.
Olive is an incredible dancer, which is the content she originally went to TikTok to create. Her sisters, Elliana and Izzy, are also dancers. The beautiful sisters and their incredible talents aren't what has gotten their family viral fame, surprisingly.
Instead, it's their dad's hilarity that has taken center stage. In a video shared to Twitter on Monday, their dad can be seen cutting an Easter cake. Then Ellie asks, "Hey, do you think Dadosaur wants some cake?"
Two things happen simultaneously. For one, their father's face completely transforms. Their mother, on the other hand, lets it be known immediately that she's not amused.
"Knock it off, Ellie," mom warns. "Don't even start with him."
Their dad, Frankie, then makes the turn to Dadosaur, as he pecks at the cake with his face and shortened arms in sporadic movements. Olive and Ellie are laughing as their mom, Christine, continues to be outwardly annoyed.
"Knock it off, that's the Easter cake!" she says. "I'm not even joking. This isn't even funny."
To her credit, mom does have a hidden smile on her face by the video's end. She doesn't seem too amused in an earlier video from Easter. Dadosaur wrecks the family's outdoor photo shoot in the snow, and mom's totally over it.
Olive later assured us that they did get at least one good family photo. It's the first photo in a series of photos from the family Easter on Christine's Instagram. Although Dadosaur surely shook things up, it looks like the family had a beautiful holiday nonetheless.
A look at more of Olive's videos shows that Dadosaur has been quite active since the family has been staying at home together. In one video, he interrupts the family's attempt to order dinner. We can totally understand mom's frustration, even though this is definitely the source of countless unforgettable memories.
There are plenty of hilarious moments with Dadosaur. In one, Olive sets Dadosaur to music. In another, the family is down near a river when the mention of him gets Frankie in the water. The videos prove that this dad can make any moment hilarious for his family.
Dads all over the internet have been inspired by Frankie's dinosaur alter ego. It's such a theatrical take on classic dad jokes. Even if mom isn't always on board with the antics, these are the kind of hilarious moments every dad wants to make for their family.
Many dads could relate to doing anything to make their kids laugh. Quite a few considered trying to adopt Dadosaur in their own homes. Some even vowed to get videos to add on to the hilarity, and we can't wait to see them.
Both current moms and those who hope to be moms one day have expressed that they want to parent with this kind of person. It seems like Frankie has set the bar high, and dads everywhere have to get up to the talent. Frankie's daughters are sure never to forget Dadosaur, and neither is the internet.
