WWII Sergeant Loses Bracelet Mom Gave Him. 70 Years Later, Stranger Holds It Up On Camera

A lot of people have a special piece of jewelry that means the world to them. For me, it's the class ring my parents bought for me. For others, it might be a necklace, a broach, or even cuff links. In this case, it's a priceless bracelet.

A WWII sergeant named John Hill was given a silver ID bracelet by his mother. He cherished it so much, but ended up losing it somewhere on a field in Normandy, France, during the war. He thought he would never see it again — until now.

In the video below, posted on April 6, 2017, John sits down at the kitchen table in front of a laptop. The person on the screen is named Matthieu Delamontte.

The stranger becomes a new friend when he holds John's long-lost bracelet up to the camera attached to his computer.

But where exactly did Matthieu find it?

In Normandy, of course. He explains that he took a metal detector out into a grassy field and stumbled upon the bracelet. He informs the WWII veteran that he looked up the serial number on the back and was able to trace the jewelry back to him.

The young man's incredible find means so much to the veteran. Now, he can be reunited with his bracelet and keep the little reminder of his mother close to his heart once again.
