This video report shares how a mother called the police on her 3-year-old after she discovered that her safety was at risk.
Michelle Fortin from Arizona constantly found herself feeling anxious whenever she had to take her kids somewhere in the car.
It was a typical day when she buckled up her two kids in the backseat of the car to take them to school. They were soon screaming and yelling at each other for no apparent reason. This wasn’t unusual behavior for the two, so Michelle just tried to ignore it.
After a few moments, she tried to see what was happening through the rear view mirror, but she couldn’t quite see what they were up to. It was her son who then informed her of what his sister had done.
“Mommy! Mommy! She unbuckled her seat belt,” Michelle’s son exclaimed. Michelle’s 3-year-old daughter, Camille, was the perpetrator.
Michelle immediately pulled the car over and went to the backseat to buckle her daughter into her seat again. She tried to explain to her how dangerous it is to drive in a car without your seat belt buckled.
Michelle’s firm words didn’t seem to stick with Camille, though, as she continued to unbuckle her seat belt and giggle away mischievously. When Michelle got home later, she decided to make a bold move and call the police for some help with her defiant toddler.
“Her safety was at risk. It was the first time she’d done it, but it was something that could affect her life and health and it was not an issue I was going to compromise on,” Michelle told Good Morning America.
