Prior to her divorce from Dean McDermott, Tori Spelling gave him a rather unconventional gift for their anniversary one year: her old breast implants. Clearly, Tori was feeling pretty crafty when she got her old implants from her doctor. The Beverly Hills 90210 actor found a useful way to repurpose them. And although Dean eventually offered to return the gift, he reportedly appreciated it.
Tori and Dean tied the knot in 2006. In 2024, Tori filed for divorce. On the July 14 episode of her misSPELLING podcast, Tori got candid about her breast implants and revealed that she previously used her old implants to make bookends for her then-husband Dean.
“I took the old implants that I got — I don’t think the doctor was supposed to give them to me but he did — and put them in, like, a Lucite box,” Tori said on her podcast. “And I made bookends out of them.”
Laughing about the unusual gift, Tori added, “Come on, you guys, you know I like to DIY. I never disappoint.” Although Dean appreciated the gift (according to Tori), he offered to return the breast implant bookends to her after they split up. Tori admitted that this “offended” her.
“He said, ‘Do you want these back?'” Tori recalled. “And I said, ‘I am offended.’ And he’s like, ‘No. I didn’t mean it like that. You know I’ve always loved them.'” Tori said her ex-husband told her she could sell the bookends, and while the suggestion definitely piqued her interest, she said she “would never” do that.
“He was like, ‘You know, you could probably sell these on eBay,'” Tori said. “I’m like, ‘I would never.’ And I was like, ‘Wait. How much? How much do you think I can get for them? I’m just curious. Asking for a friend.'”
Instead, given that she “likes to DIY,” Tori has thought about how she could update the breast implant bookends to give them a new look. “I kind of want to have them bronzed or something,” she said. “If they were bronzed … I could then make them paperweights.”
