8 Ways Your Child Can Show Their Appreciation For Their Teacher

There is no understating how wonderful teachers have been over the last year. Many of them have taken an uncertain and fluid situation and managed to teach through it while caring for their students.

Teacher Appreciation Week, from May 3 to 7, is all about showing teachers how grateful we are for all they do. It isn't just schoolteachers, either. Our kids have teachers in all areas of their lives, and they can all use a little thanks for their role.

There are a lot of wonderful ways you can show the teachers in your life how much they're appreciated. Here are some of our favorites.

Make Them a Video Collage

Come together with your kiddo's class to make a fun video montage saying thank you. Tribute.co is offering its services free of charge to help students create heartwarming video montages that celebrate their amazing teachers. You can add photos, request submissions from friends, record your own video message, and more. Once they're all added together, they make one smooth collage that teachers will want to watch over and over.

Write a Letter

A heartfelt note is still one of the most precious gifts a person can get. There are a lot of different ways your kid can go about writing the letter, so be sure to talk about what they want to say and how they want to say it. It's something that teacher will truly treasure.

It may be late in the year, but there are some basics teachers need on deck always. Unfortunately, they foot the bill for them many times due to budgetary constraints. A donation to the classroom helps alleviate some of the extra expenses teachers incur.

Send a Gift Basket

In some areas, you are allowed to give teachers actual gifts. You can coordinate with other parents to send a gift basket or gift card to show your gratitude.

Wear Red on May 4

National Teacher Day is May 4. Take pictures wearing red and post with the hashtag #RedForEd to raise awareness for education funding.

Have Kids Make a Homemade Gift

A homemade gift is a unique thank you that shows your child put some time and effort into a token of appreciation for their teacher. It can be anything from a photo magnet to a keychain. Be creative!

Make a Donation in Their Name

For teachers who can't receive gifts, giving to a charity in their honor is a beautiful choice. You can look at any charities that support education in general, or get specific to their interests.

Nominate Your Teacher for an Award

There are a lot of different awards and honors you can nominate a teacher for. Start by looking in your area and see what you can find. It will mean a lot to a teacher, and it could even help their career in the long run.
