A mother of a 4-year-old boy with a speech delay shared a heartwarming video on TikTok. Jayla Henry was baking with son Braylon when he achieved a wonderful accomplishment. He spoke for the first time without his mom having to prompt him. It was a beautiful moment for the mother-and-son pair.
“Thank you, Mom,” Braylon said. He also declared, “I love you, Mommy.” The seven little words meant so much more.
“While baking with my son the most unexpected thing happened… wait for it,” Jayla captioned her video. She was blown away by her son’s talking. At 18 months old, Braylon was diagnosed with a speech delay, so this was a big accomplishment for him.
Jayla spoke with Today about this moving moment. “At first I was like, ‘Did that just happen?’ I was shocked. He completely caught me off guard,” she explained. “Every time I watch the clip I start crying again.”
Braylon and his parents worked hard to get to this moment. Braylon got early intervention speech therapy. His parents continued to help him with this after their move to Texas.
“Braylon is so determined. He never gets frustrated. He’ll just keep repeating a word until he gets it right. He's an avid learner," Jayla revealed.
