Catherine Franks, a 28-year-old bride, had just exchanged vows with her new husband when she uttered the words that would send a ripple of concern through the congregation: “I think I’m going to pass out.” And before anyone could react, she collapsed near the altar, leaving her wedding party and her husband to frantically fan her as she lay unconscious.
In an interview with Inside Edition, the groom recounted the moment Catherine began to feel faint, recalling how she grabbed onto his arm before losing consciousness. Catherine herself admits to having little memory of the events that followed, a testament to the overwhelming nature of the experience.
One factor that may have contributed to Catherine’s fainting spell was the sweltering heat, with temperatures reaching 100 degrees outside despite being in the confines of a church. Catherine acknowledges that she occasionally struggles with feeling overwhelmed and not eating enough, a combination that may have contributed to her fainting episode.
Fortunately, Catherine and her groom were surrounded by a supportive network of family and friends, including several nurses who were able to provide immediate assistance. With their help, Catherine was quickly revived, allowing the couple to proceed with their wedding festivities and celebrate their union in the presence of their loved ones.
