There are two things in life that are inevitable: Death and taxes.
But while some people choose to see "the big sleep" as something to be terrified of, there are a growing number of people who are seeing the overall humor in life and consequently what unavoidably comes after that one: death.
Along with someone's birth, wedding, graduation day, the birth of their first child, their first home; the day of someone's death is arguably one of the most important days of their life. While some people view death as a sad event, for many people in the below photo gallery death is life's last great reward and is nothing to frown at. It's a celebration of a loved one's life, and they represent those lives in the best possible way.
Some people, for religious reasons, have trouble with the idea of cremation, and watching this video I have to admit I understand why. But there are people in Africa, specifically in the country of Ghana, that have come up with an incredibly beautiful and unique form of dealing with death.
Known as "Fantasy Coffins," these artistic yet functional coffins are created by highly skilled and extremely specialized carpenters at the request of the family of the deceased.
According to their local religion, they believe that their ancestors are incredibly powerful, and therefore need to be appeased even in death. They hope that, by giving them these fun and fantastic burial caskets, their forefathers will help them succeed in life!
Usually the coffins represent what the deceased did in life, or their biggest dreams. They're definitely beautiful and definitely an interesting approach to death. These amazing coffins celebrate the transfer from one plane of existence to the next.
