Tennessee Dad Is Looking For Teddy Bear That Contains Heartbeat Of His Late Wife

A local Tennessee father is desperately searching for a teddy bear that belongs to his 4-year-old daughter. The bear contains her late mother's heartbeat, which was recorded around a year ago, before she died. The father's deepest hope is to reunite his daughter with her bear.

Tylor Kennedy accidentally donated his daughter's teddy bear to a Goodwill in New Tazewell. After his daughter asked to take the bear to school with her, he realized the horrible mistake he'd made.

Tylor returned to the store with hopes of getting the rainbow-colored teddy bear back. To his dismay, the bear had already been sold.

Cindy Dodson, a spokesperson for Goodwill Industries Knoxville, says that it was an innocent mistake on the father's end, and they are urgently trying to locate the buyer of the bear.

"When the father came back and saw that it was sold, his heart sank," she shared.

Goodwill Knoxville shared a post on its Instagram with a photo of a bear similar to the one that was donated. Staff are urging anyone who has information to call them.

The Big ONE 106.3 FM WRIL shared a post following the story. On Monday, the station shared an update saying that Tylor is thankful for everyone's help in trying to find the bear.

In an interview with WATE, a Knoxville news station, Tylor also pleaded with the public for their help.

"My daughter’s mom passed away and her grandma made her bear with her mom’s heartbeat in it," he said.

WRIL later posted an update with what is reportedly a video of the original bear with the mom's heartbeat. The news outlet said that the grandmother, Tammy Brock, is the one who sent it in.

“Please, if y’all find it or see anybody that has one, just check or turn it into Tazewell," Tylor pleaded. "I believe that somebody will get a reward if they dropped it off. I know they’ll get their money back for sure."
