6 Frat Boys Hike To The Top Of A Mountain With Disabled Student On Their Backs

Those of us who are able-bodied tend to take many of our abilities for granted. Especially those of us who are active and love to play sports, we wouldn't be able to fathom a life without the use of our hands, feet, arms, and legs. Even everyday tasks would become a burden. How would one hold a toothbrush, or enjoy a nice stroll on the beach, for example?

But a few were born without the capacity to enjoy these simple activities — these individuals have been confined to wheelchairs, crutches, and other aids their whole lives. Many dream of one day climbing a mountain or going for a swim, for example.

DeAsia Romes, a student at the University of Arkansas, always dreamed of reaching the top of Pinnacle Mountain in Little Rock, AR. But, as she's afflicted with a muscle condition from a result of cerebral palsy, she hasn't been able to do so.

Until now, thanks to an unlikely group of heroes!

Six boys from the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity chapter at the school took it upon themselves to carry her on their backs, all the way to the top.

Thanks to them, she was able to reach new heights — literally and figuratively!

Once at the summit, the group took in the beautiful view.

DeAsia described the experience on her Facebook page, Adventures of Baby D: "Just to be so high up in the air, it's almost kind of surreal. From that point of view at the top you just feel like you can do anything."

But one mountain was not enough: the group is planning their next excursion up yet another one.
