Singer Belts Out ‘God Bless America’ For Walmart Shoppers

If you are truly grateful for the service and sacrifice of men and women in uniform, there's no wrong way to honor them. Young and old alike are capable of bold and grand gestures: this veteran is doing everything in his power to bring home his fallen comrades. But small, seemingly insignificant gestures can make a huge difference in the life of a soldier or veteran. Check out this man who plays "Taps" every night to honor soldiers everywhere, or this lady who gave soldiers hugs! For a soldier or a veteran, even a simple handshake and a "thank you" may be enough.

But one man decided to use his powerful voice to show how much he loves and respects our troops. Barbie Clancy was shopping in a Wilmington, NC, Walmart when she heard strange noises coming from the front of the store, where the registers were — so she whipped out her phone, and recorded what she saw. Shoppers were standing in line, as usual, but they were silent. As she approached the registers, she saw it: two men standing there, and one of them was singing "God Bless America."

Many of Clancy's family members served in the military, so she was particularly touched by this public show of thanks and patriotism. Apparently, so were the others: the crowd erupted in a round of applause when the anonymous man stopped singing! Clancy's son told her the video was going to go viral, and it has, with almost half a million views so far.
