When this young man came across his grandfather's old safe, he had no idea he was about to make the discovery of a lifetime.
The trunk was full of little pieces of the past and little trinkets that all once had a special meaning, and all of which had a memory attached to them. Looking through these amazing little pieces we all suddenly began to feel nostalgic for the past, too!
The idea of finding our relatives' old items is a dream that many of us have often had. Coming across an old letter written to a sweetheart, or even coming across the old trunk of a long lost relative. These incredible discoveries are the kinds of things that many people wish to have at least once in their lifetime, a bridge to the past.
When the lucky young man found this beautiful safe he finally managed to open it, and when he looked inside he was probably just as amazed as we were. When he came across this hidden safe, he had no idea that once he managed to open it, he would find beautiful memories of his grandfather.
The safe itself is beautiful too; they certainly don't make things with the care and artistic hand like this anymore!
When he finally managed to open it up, there seemed to be a wonderful assortment of hidden drawers.
When he opened the top drawer? The first thing he found was money!
The drawer was full of not only American coins, but also incredibly old Italian, German, and Canadian coins.
Pennies from before the war and long after... It certainly looks like his grandpa loved to collect coins!
He even had the good fortune of stumbling across a "Good Luck Penny" badge all the way from 1928.
But that wasn't all... In another drawer he found a special stamp with George Washington on it.

He liked to collect random things that still had meaning. A random knob...
A key, whose matching lock has long been forgotten.
Old pins to celebrate the creation of new countries or exciting new dates!
A tiny pipe that no one could ever dream to smoke.
And a mateless cufflink. Who knows what party this piece of male jewelry could have attended. A JFK presidential dinner? A WWII award ceremony? Our imaginations will have to strain to identify the common bond between these "meaningless" relics of the past. What was important enough to hide away for some, leaves others confused.
While we'll never know why his grandfather hid away these antique items, one thing is for sure.
