Raymond Oroso and his family went to celebrate his wife's birthday at Lucia Restaurant in Carmel Valley, California.
Just as the group was about to enjoy their dessert, a man seated alone at a nearby table (who is reportedly a Silicon Valley CEO) started to verbally abuse them.
The man hurled racial slurs and shouted expletives at the Asian American family, and it was all captured on video.
But before he could finish his hateful speech, one of the waitresses, Gennica Cochran, stepped in and became a hero.

She acted on instinct, and even she was surprised by her reaction. "To hear the emotion coming out of my voice, to see my mannerisms, it was unbelievable it was just something that came over me and I just did what needed to be done," Gennica told ABC7. "I did what anybody else should or would do in that situation."
Now Raymond and his family are thanking this heroic waitress who spoke up in the face of racism.
