If there's one reason I love the winter, it's because for three blissful months, I don't have to worry about any creepy crawlies, flying teeth, or slithering beasts. I might be freezing my tail off, but at least I can crunch through the woods or hang out on the back porch without any worry!
But come summertime, I know it's time to break out the bug spray, flyswatters, and hydrocortisone. It's time to peer under every picnic table in search of fuzzy spiders; to shake out every shoe for fear of…well, fuzzy spiders.
Step outside for one minute and suddenly you're hysterically slapping your arms and legs, frantically swatting at the air, and desperately trying to remember that trick to lead the gnats away from the holes in your face they so desperately want to crawl into.
Come June 1, Nature is suddenly hell-bent on either consuming your flesh or annoying you to death, and nothing will stand in its way.
