Actress Olivia Wilde is known for making headlines for her starring roles in film and television, but this week her name grabbed the spotlight after what she did with her baby during a photo shoot for Glamour magazine.
Wilde, who is gracing the cover of the September issue to talk about being a new mom, decided to pose during the shoot with her infant son, Otis, while breast-feeding in a Roberto Cavalli dress and Prada shoes.
While public breastfeeding has garnered some negative press, most have come out in complete support of Wilde's photos, some even calling her a hero.
Wilde took to Twitter to thank Glamour for "knowing there's nothing indecent about feeding my hungry baby." Ironically enough, the photos were made public during World Breastfeeding Week which runs from Aug. 1 to 7.
Wilde told the magazine that the move to continue shoot as she breastfed her baby boy "is so perfect because any portrait of me right now isn't complete without my identity as a mother being a part of that. Breast-feeding is the most natural thing…It felt like we were capturing that multifaceted woman we've been discussing—that we know we can be. You can be someone who is at once maternal and professional and sexy and self-possessed. "
