Mom Says She Feeds Her Family Of Six Dinner At Three In The Afternoon And It’s Amazing

What time does your family usually eat dinner? If it's later in the evening, one mom has a hack that might just change your mind. Aimee Connor shared a video to her TikTok, @aims.lc, sharing that she serves her family of six (four kids, her husband, and herself) dinner at 3 p.m. and explaining why.

In an interview with Good Morning America, she explained that her family had already been having early dinners, but that it gradually shifted earlier and earlier over time because it turned out to be beneficial for them.

The registered nurse who lives in New South Wales, Australia, felt guilty about feeding her kids unhealthy snacks after school and day care just to hold them over until dinner time. And she realized that her kids were often hungry.

"I'm offering them the junk food because I just need to do the dinner. So if the dinner is ready at 3, all of that is eliminated and I'm in a better mood, they're in a better mood, and it just works so much better," she said. "I had [a] huge, huge amount of guilt and shame with food because of how my children just were fussy. The [later] dinner times were just this negative experience and I just wasn't looking forward to it. So as soon as I took that guilt and shame off, I could really concentrate on just having that positive attitude and creating this positive light and shine on dinner times and make it fun."

Other TikTok users weighed in on the mother's hack.

"I love when people realise there are better times to eat than the standard breakfast, lunch and dinner times ," one person commented.

"I started feeding my kids dinner at 3/4pm when they're hungry after seeing you doing it," another user said. "I don't know why I didn't do it earlier!! Game changer."
