An optical illusion is defined as "an experience of seeming to see something that does not exist or that is other than it appears." I just say that optical illusions are astonishing tricks of the eye that leave you wondering…how'd they do that?!

These squares are the same color. Try covering up the space in the middle of them.
Crazy, right? Because the edges are different colors, your brain sees the whole squares as different colors.
Which of these orange circles is bigger?
If you said that they're both the same size, you're right! The circle on the left just looks smaller relative to the objects around it.
Okay, now which of these two monsters is larger?
Also the same size. We just think that one is bigger because our brain perceives it as further away.
This image isn't actually moving.
Because of the way your brain processes faces, it seems like the dinosaur is looking at you.

Tile A and Tile B are the exact same color. It has to do with how your brain perceives shadows.
Just try and make sense of the Penrose Triangle
A classic, but a classic for a reason. There is not triangle in the middle but your brain fills it in.
Those lines are 100% parallel to each other.

Another classic. Is this a rabbit or a duck? Or some sort of weird hybrid? Depends where you look!

That isn't magic water. Refraction just means the arrow looks up side down when the light bounces through the water.
Just focus on the yellow dot and move your head closer to the screen...
Is your room dark? Move your head towards the screen to make things brighter.
