Police in Oregon took in a rather cuddly "suspect": an adorable black bear cub.
A young boy and his mother brought the cub to the station after they found it whipping and alone on the side of the road. Police and Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife officials tried to track down the cub's mother but were unable to find her. The baby cub is now at the University of Oregon receiving veterinary care and will be placed in a zoo.
Although the police commended the boy, they said he made a very risky choice by picking up the cub. Had the protective 300-lb mama bear been nearby, she would have attacked the teenager. It's important to remember that anyone who comes into contact with a bear should always leave the area, call authorities and let the professionals handle the situation.
