When Nadyne Tillman’s family hadn’t heard from her in two days, they thought it was unusual. They contacted police and filed a missing person report. A day later, authorities found Tillman’s bloodied body in a hotel room closet. Police learned that Tillman, 43, arranged an excursion with kayak tour guide Dylan Lamb. She met him at his hotel room, the same room where police discovered her body. Lamb, 33, has since been arrested and charged with her murder.
Lamb checked into the room at the Amoray Dive Resort in Key Largo, Florida, on April 4, according to People. When hotel staff asked him to relocate to another room to make space for other guests, Lamb refused, staff members told the Miami Herald. After Lamb checked out of the room on April 6, cleaning staff found bloodied sheets in large trash bags. They threw them away and did not notify authorities.
What makes this tragic story even more disturbing is that other guests stayed in the room with Tillman’s corpse before authorities discovered her. “They stayed the night and checked out Monday, none the wiser about the body,” a law enforcement source told the Miami Herald.
Police say Lamb stuffed Tillman’s body in the crawl space of an air conditioning closet. As a result, Lamb has been charged with second-degree murder, kidnapping, evidence destroying, and procuring another for prostitution. Investigators believe Lamb beat Tillman to death. Deputies arrested Lamb at his place of employment, an outdoor outfitters and kayak shop.
“I want to thank the men and women of the Sheriff’s Office for working around the clock to make an arrest in this case,” Sheriff Rick Ramsay said in a statement. “While the investigation remains ongoing, there do not appear to be any other individuals involved in this incident.”
