Republican representative Trey Gowdy slammed deputy chief of staff of the Environmental Protection Agency, John Reeder.
It turned out that Reeder had hired Peter Jutro, but had done absolutely nothing in spite of receiving reports that Jutro had several sexual harassment complaints against him from multiple female EPA workers.
To make matters even worse, it turned out that Jutro was allowed to retire from his job before he could be fired or at the very least reprimanded. Reeder continued to claim that he had no knowledge of the sexual harassment despite several official claims.
Gowdy, as passionate as ever, brought up multiple occurrences in which Reeder dismally failed at his job to investigate Jutro's background. Time and time again, Reeder either willfully ignored or ignorantly overlooked the multiple charges against Jutro. And in the intense interview below, Gowdy is not letting Reeder get a pass!
The video shows Gowdy asking Reeder one simple question: "Do you know why you were not aware of that…? Because you didn't bother to ask Mr. Jutro's supervisor when you were doing his background check, he knew about it. But you didn't bother to ask him."
After an investigation, it was determined that Mr. Reeder would have had to have known about the sexual harassment allegations. Had Reeder asked Jutro's immediate supervisor, the information would have been freely given.
However, Reeder never approached Jutro's supervisor, nor did he ever ask about his job performance, nor did he run any sort of background check.
What do you think about Trey Gowdy's intense interview in the video below? Do you think he was being disrespectful, or was he not being harsh enough on Reeder?
