Carlos Guevara has suffered from Tourette's Syndrome for his entire life, but as this 16-year-old grows older, he says his condition has gotten worse. No medication has been able to help dull the involuntary spasms and tics Carlos experiences. The only thing that has helped this young singer has been music.
In this beautifully touching performance from the X Factor, Carlos auditions with "Gravity" by John Mayer, a fitting song about feeling held back and working against it. I'm blown away that Carlos was able to muster up the courage to get on stage and perform, despite his condition working against him. When Carlos opened his mouth, something beautiful happened.
I'm in tears. What an amazing singer and true role model. Carlos won't let his struggles hold him back, as no one should. His strength, courage and positive attitude is beyond inspiring.
