Birthdays are the perfect excuse to indulge in your favorite sweet treat. There's an unspoken rule that on the anniversary of your birth, calories just don't exist! Sure, presents are nice, too, but now that I'm an adult, I find myself looking forward to dessert more than unwrapping any goodies. Even though you're growing a year older, blowing out your candles and slicing into a cake can always make you feel like a kid again.
When this family celebrated their son Travis' big day, though, he wasn't exactly the focus of the festivities. His parents, Missie and Bob, and his wife, Kim, do sing the traditional tune and present him with a cake, but the message written on top doesn't have anything to do with his annual trip around the sun. Instead, it congratulated Missie and Bob on becoming grandparents!
The sneaky couple knew it would be the perfect opportunity to pull a switcheroo on the unsuspecting pair. After blowing out his candles, Travis simply says, "Aw, that's sweet," while reading the frosted words still hidden from his parents' view. When Kim finally places the confection in front of them to reveal the surprise, Missie and Bob definitely do not disappoint with their precious reaction.
It's a good thing Travis doesn't seem to mind having his birthday overshadowed by the bundle of joy. From what I can tell, that's exactly what parenthood will feel like — always putting the little one first!
