Jenri Rivera was born deaf, but at age seven, he received a miracle he never expected. This Guatemalan boy was given the gift of hearing, and once his cochlear implant was activated, the first thing he heard were his family's voices over Skype. What happens when he hears his mom for the first time is truly remarkable. You may need some tissues!
His remarkable story started three years prior, when he met a registered nurse Erin Van Oordt, who was visiting Guatemala on a mission trip. After learning he hadn't heard since birth, she reached out to nonprofit Ray of Hope Medical Missions, which organized everything from his procedure to donations. How incredible is that?!
