Mom Breastfeeds Crying Son In Restaurant, But Panics When Stranger Grabs Her Knife And Fork

In May 2016, New Zealand mom Briar Lusia Mcqueen went out for breakfast with just her baby for the first time since her 8-week-old son Jaxon was born.

Of course, being a new mom isn't an easy job, even less so when you're alone. When Jaxon started crying in the restaurant, Briar knew it was time to breastfeed him. She had just gotten her meal, but couldn't cut it for herself and eat it while she was preoccupied with the baby.

Then an older woman approached her. The new mom panicked, thinking that she was going to ask her to cover up. But instead, the woman grabbed her fork and knife and cut up her food for her!

She reportedly said, "What a good mama you are, we can't have your food getting cold can we?"

Briar found the gesture so remarkably kind that she had to post about it on Facebook. It's the kind of encouragement and support breastfeeding moms need!

When he started crying, she knew she had to feed him, and in public too.

The breastfeeding mom was then approached by an older lady. Briar thought she was going to ask her to cover up, but she just wanted to show the new mom some kindness!

Briar posted about the encounter on Facebook:

Just wanted to share this really sweet moment I had this morning.

Today was the first time I went out for breakfast alone with my 8 week old son, I had just received my breakfast and hot chocolate when Jaxon started crying wanting his booby so of course I fed him, after a few minutes this older lady walked up to me, I was scared, thinking she was gonna tell me to put my boob away, instead she starts cutting up my breakfast for me and said “what a good mama you are, we can’t have your food getting cold can we”.
