It's so, so important that family is present for the major parts of our lives. Holidays are big ones; it's just not the same if someone's missing at Christmas dinner, or if you miss your grandma's birthday.
Sometimes it takes a while to figure out just how important family is — maybe a move halfway across the country makes you miss everyone a little more, or maybe it's just the wisdom that comes with age.
But that whole "family first" saying? It may be corny, but it's so true.
Holidays aren't the only times that it's important to have your loved ones near. If you get a new job, you're going to want to share that moment with your parents or your spouse. Housewarming parties aren't just excuses to serve that fancy wine you've been saving, they're so that you can bring your whole family and your closest friends together to turn that new house or apartment into a real home.
