Sometimes life doesn’t always play out how we expect, but if you open yourself up a little bit, you can find yourself rewarded with a life full of joy and some really amazing people.
This video posted by Viral Story tells the story of an Ohio couple who, after spending nearly 10 years providing foster care, ended up becoming first-time parents when they adopted five siblings.
Initially, Julie and Will Rom didn’t think that being parents was in the cards for them, as they weren’t able to naturally conceive. After they accepted their fate, they soon came to the conclusion that being foster parents to children in need was the route for them.
“Let’s foster and be the bridge for these kids while the parents get themselves together and eventually get themselves through reunifications,” Julie told ABC News.
In the summer of 2017, their true desire to be parents finally came true when they decided to adopt five siblings who had been placed with them over the previous three years.
The children range from the ages of 2 to 12 years old, and Julie admits that she just knew that these kids felt like her own and it was such a “relief” to finally be able to formally adopt them all.

“We’ve always said that when we had children come into our home, we would never have them uprooted another time,” Julie explained to ABC News.
The adoption was made official with friends, loved ones, and teachers present at Hamilton County Probate Court in Cincinnati, Ohio.
