For most teen girls, the thought of drastically changing their hairstyle in front of all of their peers would be a pretty daunting endeavor.
However, the inspirational young ladies at Seton High School in Cincinnati, OH, were more than happy to line up in rows of chairs to have their locks chopped away. In fact, over 400 volunteered for the heartwarming haircut knowing all of their strands would go to helping someone battling cancer.
Just like the little girl who let her friend have the honor of slicing off her ponytail, there were several women present at the event who are currently being treated for their various conditions. As one woman being treated for a second diagnosis explains, even though they know the hair loss will happen, it's still so devastating to see when it actually begins to fall out.
The students were even joined by a few alums who had already graduated but wanted to be there for the amazing cause, bringing the total of donations to 410 individuals.
Of course, emotions were still high as the girls heard the scissors start snipping away, but most were still left with an ample amount. And for them, it can always grow back!
They also know just how much their gesture can do for those lacking confidence and self-esteem during their treatment, something that can make the already heartbreaking time in their life even worse.
Take a look to see the big moment they take the plunge.
