Mailman Risks Life To Save Dogs From House Fire

It's an old cliche that mailmen hate dogs and that dogs hate mailmen, but after you've watched this incredible story, you'll easily agree that perhaps these two groups of people and animals might just be able to be friends after all!

Brandon Messerschmidt was on his third month of work on his new route as a mailman when he suddenly saw heavy smoke and smelled something weird coming from a neighborhood house.

As he drove closer and closer to the scene in his mail truck, he was horrified to see that one of the houses was quickly being destroyed by unquenchable flames.

As the angry fire chewed its way through Mark Ruggles' home, Brandon jumped out to see if anyone was trapped inside. Mark, desperate and quickly losing hope, was attempting to put the fire out with his garden hose to no avail.

But when Brandon asked if anyone else was inside, he was horrified to hear that Mark's two pit bulls were trapped in the burning home. Brandon acted instantly. He searched throughout the house but couldn't find the dogs.

Thankfully, while Brandon was inside, Mark had ran around the house to let the dogs out. Luckily, no one was injured.

Neighbors and the whole community alike are calling Brandon a hero. A complete stranger who was willing to risk his life in order to save someone else's pet? This man really goes to show why our nation's mail carriers are some truly amazing people!
